A chase through two counties resulted in the arrest of a person police had been seeking for a while.

The Michigan State Police Marshall Post says Sunday that they were investigating tips regarding a suspect who was wanted on multiple felony warrants, who had been on the run for over two weeks. The tip led to a pursuit where troopers chased the suspect from Calhoun County into Branch County, at which point the suspect abandoned his vehicle in the tree line and attempted to steal an elderly woman’s vehicle.

The MSP says he then went to a nearby residence and attempted to steal a van that was parked in the driveway, but at this point troopers caught up to him; after a brief scuffle, the suspect was arrested and taken into custody. It was also determined that the initial vehicle he had been driving was stolen as well.
