The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is putting into effect new work requirements for residents to maintain and preserve coverage for Healthy Michigan Plan beneficiaries on January 1st, 2020.

Leading up to that date, the MDHHS is conducting regional forums regarding the upcoming work requirements. However, there is only one location in southwest Michigan. That forum will be on Nov. 5th at 2pm, in Kalamazoo at the Family Health Center, at 505 East. Alcott St.

The goal of these forums is inform those affected by the legislation about these new work requirements because beginning on January. 1st, 2020, "Healthy Michigan Plan beneficiaries will be required to report 80 hours of work or other activities, such as job searches, to MDHHS each month," according to MDHHS.

MDHHS is encouraging attendees to register for the forums so the department can ensure that sufficient space and printed materials are available for participants. Register and find more information about the Healthy Michigan Plan and work requirements by visiting HealthyMichiganPlan.org and clicking the Changes Coming in 2020 tab. -MDHHS
