MDOT To Hold Open House On I-94 Widening In Kalamazoo
Citizens who are curious about a major road project set to come to Kalamazoo in a few years will have a chance to learn more next week.
The Michigan Department of Transportation says they are holding an open house in Kalamazoo on August 21, regarding the planned expansion project for I-94 between Lovers Lane and Sprinkle Rd. In 2021 and 2022, MDOT will reconstruct and widen I-94 from four to six lanes.
The project will also involve replacing the Portage Rd. interchange and "realigning" Kilgore Rd.
The open house will feature MDOT representatives and business owners, speaking to interested residents and the media.
The event is Wednesday, August 21, from 4 to 6pm. It takes place at the MDOT Southwest Region Office, at 1501 E. Kilgore Rd. in Kalamazoo.
