Pre-cut melon sold at  five major chains has been voluntarily recalled due to the possibility of salmonella. Walmart, Trader Joe's, Target, Kroger and Whole Foods customers who recently purchased pre-cut melon are affected.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Food and Drug Administration announced that Caito Foods LLC is recalling pre-cut watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe, and any combinations containing those fruits.

In their announcement, the FDA says "Caito Foods has temporarily suspended producing and distributing these products as the company and FDA continue their investigations."
