I've always had a fascination with turtles. When I was a kid, my mom took me to a pet store to look at fish, turtles, hamsters, and even birds. But for some reason, I was really focused on buying two pet turtles.

My mom bought me the turtles and that's how it all started.

Did you know that Michigan has several different species of turtles? And that turtles have lived on the Earth for over 200 million years?

Michigan turtles are important to humans for many reasons. Some turtles eat insects and others recycle dead animals. Box Turtles help disperse berry seeds.
