More K-Mart’s Closing in Michigan, Nationally
A K-Mart store in Jackson and two in the Grand Rapids area are two of the seven stores that will be closing by the end of the year.
After Chicago-based Sears Holdings announced the closing of 64 stores, Business Insider has a list of stores that will be closing by December after the announcement September 16th. The closures come after Sears shut down 80 Sears and K-Mart stores earlier this year, concluding in July.
A total of seven stores in Michigan will close, including one in the Detroit area and others in the northern Lower Peninsula and Sault Ste. Marie.
With the closures, there are not many K-Mart's left in Southwest Michigan. Jackson will still have one after the closure. Battle Creek, Marshall and Hastings still have single stores.
