After a weekend music festival near downtown Grand Rapids, police are investigating approximately 30 reports of missing phones, Wood TV 8 reports.

The thefts occurred at Breakaway Music Festival Friday and Saturday at Belknap Park in northeast Grand Rapids.

One festival attendee told Wood TV 8 she was up on someone’s shoulders with her phone in her back pocket when it was taken.

GRPD say thieves could have been targeting specific people. In all the reported cases, victims were out on the dance floor with their phones in their pockets when suddenly they realized they were missing.

Police say they've recovered a few phones so far and are continuing to investigate.
