A crash at a busy Kalamazoo intersection yesterday afternoon left a motorcyclist dead.

MLive reports that the incident happened around 5pm Wednesday, at the intersection of Lovers Lane and E. Cork St. While authorities are still trying to put together the scene, at this time it appears that a motorcycle travelling south on Lovers Ln. ended up colliding with the side of a car that was turning on to Cork.

The 55-year-old motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the car was uninjured.

The cause of the crash continues to be investigated, but Kalamazoo County authorities do say that alcohol wasn’t a factor.
