MSU Board of Trustees Meeting Interrupted By Protesting Students
Michigan State University's Board of Trustees met today to formally appoint former Governor John Engler as the school's new President.
The decision was unanimous among the board but was panned by faculty and students who claim they were shut out of the process. MSU's faculty steering committee are reportedly calling for a vote of no confidence against the board at their next meeting.
A couple of students had other ideas on their mind on how to show the Board their frustrations, and they made sure they saw them.
Sitting in the middle of the conference table will certainly get you attention to deliver what is on your mind.
Engler's appointment relieves interim President Bill Beekman, who returns exclusively to his place on the Board of Trustees. One of Engler's first orders of business personnel-wise will be finding a replacement for Mark Hollis, who's last day as Athletic Director is today. Greg Ianni will serve as the interim AD during the transition.
