Storms moved through parts of West Michigan Tuesday night with many communities seeing Thunderstorm Watches and Warnings. In Three Rivers what started as a typical Thunderstorm quickly escalated, with the worst of the damage happening in mere moments.

Residents of the St. Joseph County community say things got scary; with trees snapping, hitting homes, bringing down power lines and blocking roads. While in the midst of a heat wave, many were left in the dark and without air conditioning.

Utility crews worked through the evening and into the night, though some in Three Rivers say they were told not to expect power to return for a couple days.
