Peyton Manning Is a Robe-Wearing Retiree in New DirecTV Commercials
Peyton Manning may have retired, but he's not done with the NFL.
The two-time Super Bowl champ stars in a series of commercials plugging NFL Sunday Ticket for DirecTV. Clad in a robe and looking unkempt while set against the backdrop of Lionel Richie playing an updated version of the Commodores' "Easy," the spots find Manning with lots of time on hands.
Manning has a long history of being a pitchman -- Nationwide, Gatorade, Papa John's and, yes, DirecTV come to mind -- so you have to wonder if there are more plans for him to increase his small screen exposure.
There's also been talk that Manning could remain in football by working as an analyst for a network covering the NFL, since he knows the game, is affable and is generally well-liked.
While we wait to see his next move, check out Manning's other new DirecTV spots.
