Nabisco wanted to create a new Oreo flavor so they asked the public for their input.  One of the suggested flavors was avocado flavored Oreo's, now that does not sound appealing at all and I love avocados.

According to USA Today they have decided on three new flavors, suggested by their customers and they are:

  • Cherry Cola
  • Piña Colada
  • and Kettle Corn

Well at least it was not Avocado flavored.

Those three cookies went into production after beating out "hundreds of thousands" of submissions to Oreo's #MyOreoCreation contest, which by the way is not over yet. It is not over yet because Nabisco what you to try them and then vote on your favorite.  When you have tasted them Nabisco want you to let them know what you think of them at MyOreoCreation.com.

The person who suggested the winning cookie will receive $500,000, now that is not a bad pay day.

If you care to know, because who knows you might love them the new Oreo cookies are made up of the following:

  • The Piña Colada Oreo has a pineapple-coconut creme filling
  • The Kettle Corn's has an icing which is studded with puffed millet pieces, similar to corn puffs. Apparently those puffed millet pieces create the crunchy-meets-pillowy texture we all associate with the carnival treat.
  • The Cherry Cola is created with chocolate cookies and a dual-layer, red-and-white creme filling that's loaded with popping candy. Those popping candies are supposed to mimic the fizz from soda.

By the way Nabisco stated they will bring back the Marshmallow Peeps Oreo's as well as their Firework Oreo's as seasonal releases this year.  Not up your ally how about Chocolate Hazelnut Oreo's (AKA NUTELLA OREOS!) will also be coming back.  Still not tickling your taste buds how about Hot and Spicy Cinnamon Oreo's?

Bring back the Marshmallow Peeps Oreo's, Firework Oreo's and Chocolate Hazelnut Oreo's, I never knew they had been produced before.

I guess I am a purist, I love the good old fashion chocolate and crème filled Oreo’s.  Have you tried the other seasonal flavors yet and how do the new ones sound to you?
