Last February Pizza Katerina in Oshtemo had to close down. The owners Kathleen and Paul were forced to shut down after Kathleen was diagnosed with cancer. The fate of the business laid in the balance as the pandemic raged across the state and country. After announcing they would sadly have to close their doors for good, one loyal couple stepped up and purchased the company and all ingredients from them. The family came to their aide in their time of need and now Pizza Katerina has been saved.

In a reddit post the former owners exclaimed their appreciation for the new owners saying:

We had to close back in February to devote our time to my wife's cancer treatment and reached the conclusion that we would not be able to devote the time needed to re-open. We are very happy that Pizza Katerina will be kept alive by a wonderful family and I do hope you will give them a chance and show them the same amazing support you showed us.

They went on to thank the people of Kalamazoo, Portage, and Oshtemo for the service and support. This is Pizza Katerina's new Facebook page. They've announced that they'll be hosting a re-Grand Opening of the pizza place on Tuesday, February 2nd.
