Police Cruiser Struck By Fleeing Domestic Assault Suspect In Kalamazoo County

Authorities in Kalamazoo County say a man is in jail and facing several charges after a vehicle he was trying to flee in collided with a police cruiser.

WWMT reports that Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s deputies were called to respond to a domestic assault at Danford Creek Apartments on Stadium Drive at around 7:30 last night. After arriving at the scene, the suspect jumped in a vehicle and tried leaving the parking lot to escape. Deputies moved to try and stop the vehicle, but the man drove into the path of one of their cruisers and struck it.

No injuries were reported. The suspect was arrested and taken to the Kalamazoo County Jail. He is expected to face charges of domestic assault as well as assaulting a Sheriff’s deputy related to the crash. His name has not been released. No other details have been released related to the domestic incident.
