Portage Spared As Payless Shoe Source Set To Close More Stores?

USA Today is reporting that Payless Shoe Source is now set to close almost 800 stores, as it reorganizes in bankruptcy. But what about their Portage locations.Both the Crossroads Mall store and the Westnedge Avenue location across from Meijer are not on either list of stores to be closed.

However two Grand Rapids locations, at Rivertown Crossing and at Woodland Mall are both closing.

Payless is on a ever growing list of brick and mortar stores filing for bankruptcy or simply closing, in this age of changing shoe shopping habits in the age of the internet.
