Curtis Granderson announced his retirement from baseball after 16 seasons.  He started his career in Detroit and had his best season as a Tiger in 2007.

2007 was the year that saw Granderson join a very exclusive club.   He joined the 20-20-20-20 club.

According to Baseball Reference, Granderson hit 38 doubles, 23 triples, 23 home runs and stole 26 bases.  He is one of four players to accomplish those numbers in a season.

He finished top ten in MVP voting and also started his Grand Kids Foundation that season.     One of those memorable seasons from a Tigers player I will always remember.

It was hard to see him traded in 2009, but the trade worked out for all teams involved. The trade was the big off season trade that brought Max Scherzer and Austin Jackson to Detroit.

Granderson went on to have a great career as part of the Yankees.  He also played with the Mets, Dodgers, Blue Jays, Brewers and Marlins.    A professional on and off the field it was an honor to watch him play.
