The Kalamazoo Ribfest musical lineup has been announced and it has a distinctively '90's feel to it, with Friday night headliners Everclear, and Saturday night it will be Spin Doctors and Joan Osborne. Local Blues wunderkind Jake Kershaw will play on Thursday night.

Best known for songs "Father of Mine" " I Will Buy You A New Life" and "Santa Monica", lead singer and band leader Art Alexakis was also one early rock musicians to incorporate music sampling and pop rap, into songs like "AM Radio".

On Saturday night, August 3rd, Spin Doctors and Joan Osborne take the Arcadia Creek stage. Spin Doctors' music exploded in the summer of 1992, with hits Two Princes and Little Miss Can't Be Wrong, from Pocket Full of Kryptonite, being played everywhere, along with an appearance on Saturday Night Live. Several albums followed, but the band suffered a serious setback when lead singer Chris Barron lost his voice. It took two years for it to get back to being able to sing again.

Osborne's big hit was "One of Us" in 1995, but she appears on various musical TV and movie project. She sang on the award winning documentary "Standing in the Shadows of Motown" and she has appeared on the Grand 'Ol Opry.

There's a distinct local flavor to the opening night of Ribfest, with Jake Kershaw on the stage. The local, 18 year old is making the world of blues music sit up and take notice and he'll be doing it at Ribfest, on Thursday night.
