Although you won't find Hoggle, Ludo, or Sir Didymus in this labyrinth, the Lavender Labyrinth at Cherry Point Farm is a magical destination. It's a maze of herbs and earthen mounds that tickles all the senses; the colors, the scents. Part art therapy, part aromatherapy. Typically, the bloom begins mid-July and and continues in to August, providing a natural, botanical, retreat.

This isn't just a place of beauty. The 36 herbal garden beds boast a wide range of uses from culinary to medicinal, to herbs traditionally used for dye. According to the Cherry Point Farm website, they "sell bulk lavender and many lavender products" in their market. Elsewhere on the farm are tart cherries, apples, peaches, asparagus, and raspberries. What a perfect place to take the kids to learn about herbs.

Cherry Point Farm is located at 9600 W. Buchanan Road in Shelby, Michigan. They are open beginning in April, weekends only, and then daily between May and October. Check their website for spring updates.
