Sushi Returning To Downtown Kalamazoo in December

The news has been out since early in the year, but today is the first I heard it, so maybe this will be news to you, too. There's a new sushi restaurant opening in downtown Kalamazoo in December.

Maru Sushi & Grill, Kalamazoo will be located in the Depot Building. The Depot is the same building where HopCat is. Maru will occupy the south end of the building, facing Michigan Avenue.

Maru is a trendy sushi chain owned by Robert Song. He has multiple locations in Michigan, including Grand Rapids, Midland and the Lansing area. Downtown Kalamazoo has been without a sushi restaurant since Sushiya left for Gull Road.

On their Facebook page, Maru says the opening has been delayed by construction delays, but mentions December for an opening day.
