The holidays are merry and bright in Candy Cane Park as the annual Bronson Park tree lighting ceremony will be November 29.

Kalamazoo Historic Tour hopes to provide history with a twist — delivering the weird, the haunted, and the historic stories found throughout Kalamazoo.

The City of Kalamazoo has taken the extraordinary move to publicly call attention to and apologize for a mistake made by a contractor working on Bronson Park.

The decision has been made to work with the Kalamazoo Nature Center to create a public natural "playscape" for children aged 2 to 10 years old.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Kalamazoo City workers spent a sunny afternoon decorating Bronson Park.

All of the homeless protesters tents and items had to be removed and disposed of, with reportedly some of these items being ones that were donated by the community.

Renk: I find it very interesting that he stated that their job as commissioners is to spend our money, do you?

Renk: This should not be a political stunt and instead should be a humanitarian issue for the city to deal with.

Renk: Now let us see where this saga leads the city and the taxpayers who ultimately pay for the park but were unable to use it.

The Kalamazoo City Commission will be voting on the several changes to their park rules at their meeting Monday, some of which do actually reduce penalties for certain behaviors; for example, certain misdemeanors will be dropped down to civil infractions, making them no longer a criminal offence. However, other changes would restrict activity allowed in city parks, particularly Bronson Park.
