The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety has partnered with the Oshtemo Fire Department in a friendly competition that will benefit children affiliated with Great Lakes Burn Camp.
Each child will get an decorate a pot like a spooky spider and plant their own spider plant just in time for Halloween! The class size is small, and is limited to 12 participants aged 7 and older. Children under 7 can be signed up with additional adult supervision present.
When I first read the release, I thought why would anyone travel with a child without having a car seat, but that's not the problem. It's making sure the car seats are properly installed, and also age and size appropriate
Interim Superintendent, Gary Start, said of the program, quote, "(Community Eligibility Provision) is a way we can use federal funds to feed more children. It’s always important for our children to have the best nutrition possible to enable them to be prepared to learn."
