U.S. National Forest Service is again permitting Michigan residents to u-cut Christmas trees in national forests including Hiawatha, Ottawa, and Huron-Manistee.
Now that the 2022 holiday season is over, here's where residents of Kalamazoo and Portage, Michigan can dispose of their real Christmas trees for free.
"We came to the cabin for the weekend and saw a note posted that said the state of Michigan was interested in a tree growing close to the cabin. I thought it was a joke at first, but decided to call the number. It's amazing that our tree will travel to Lansing for the holidays."
