An actual air horn hasn't been heard at a red Wings Game since Joe Louis Arena closed in 2017.

Preparation is underway for the new construction of a high-rise residential building at the former site of iconic Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.

The Detroit Red Wings have partnered with Detroit Jeweler, Rebel Nell to create some unique pieces from the old Joe Louis Arena.

They're in the process of removing the concrete right now.

Wow. When you see it empty like that, it's a LOT smaller than we remember.

Then again, the Silverdome didn't really "implode" either. The first time, anyways.
