The 77-year-old Manke still faces state administrative action against him. The Whitmer administration still wants to pull his business license.

In the wake of sweeping decisions from the Michigan State Supreme Court effectively ending the Governors unilateral emergency declaration extension and subsequent virus lockdown and control Orders, Manke says it’s time for the state to come clean. He’s demanding all state actions against him be brought to a close.

There’s little question the 77-year-old barber Manke will be back at work this morning. Now he has the protection of the State Supreme Court in his battle with Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer over her shutdown orders.

The state claims the 77-year-old barber presents a health risk to his community and the surrounding area by serving his customers.

When the state pulled Manke’s barber license last week he stopped working. But he was back cutting hair yesterday and says he plans to continue. The 77-year-old telling a reporter, “Who cares? What are they going to give me? Life?”

A Conservative Coalition co-founder says the idea is to point out the Governor is determining that marijuana shops are allowed to stay open while barbers and hair salons are not, questioning the reasoning behind that decision.

Manke says his efforts are not a protest against Governor Gretchen Whitmer and her shutdown orders. He sees no difference between running his barbershop with safety precautions in place, and Walmart being allowed to stay open.
