Michigan residents should beware that these items are not accepted in recycling bins.

The list of items that are illegal to throw in the trash in Michigan is kind of surprising.

Two DeNooyer automotive dealerships, DeNooyer Chevrolet in Kalamazoo and DeNooyer Ford in Vicksburg, are hosting an Electronics Recycling Day on Friday, March 18th, 2022. Remember this is a Friday event, from 10 am until 5 pm.

Here it is, the start of fall. If you're a homeowner, you know that things collect and pile up. You don't even need to be a packrat, things just do. And the City of Kalamazoo is going to try and help at least a few of you the first weekend of October.

For those who want to recycle but live in an area where it's not offered, here's what you can do.

Sure deposit fraud is a concern, but shouldn't we be more focused on fixing our facilities, making them more efficient, and working to streamline machines so that we can continue the spirit of that very first Earth Day?

With Governor Gretchen Whitmer's order to re-open more retail establishments, and then, the long awaited re-opening of restaurants and bars on June 8th getting the most attention, this small piece of news, while significant, may get lost in the hoopla.

You'll still be charged the $.10 deposit, but won't be able to return the bottles until after the order is lifted.
