The Best Craft Beer in the World Is Still Here
Bringing home the only gold medal from the Great American Beer Festival was Grand Rapids' Mitten Brewing for it's West Coast Swing Amber Ale.
Local beer dynamo Bell's picked up a Silver medal in the Double Hoppy Red Ale category with its Roundhouse Ale.
Founders in Grand Rapids won a Silver medal for its Breakfast Stout and another for it's Porter.
Wolverine State Brewing in Ann Arbor raised some eyebrows (and some glasses) with two medals; a Silver for it's NZ Pils and a Bronze for it's Raucher.
Thornapple Brewing in Grand Rapids collected a Silver medal for My Brown Eyed Girl,
Kung Fu Smurf picked up a Silver medal for Bastone Brewery in Royal Oak, while Brew Detroit got a bronze for its Cerveza DelRay.
What really jumps out at you is how many brewers there are in the country now; and keep in mind, a lot of great beers don't even enter this competition. Many only send only send on of their experimental entries. Here's a link to the complete list of awards.
