The R&B Hall of Fame Close To Finding Physical Home In Michigan

It's strange to think that the R&B Hall of Fame may have a permanent home in Michigan. LaMont Robinson, founder of the hall, is planning to meet with Bay City officials to discuss the plan to build a $25 million museum. Also shopping around the area, he's keeping his options open as Flint and Detroit are also other destinations he's envisioning for the hall. Having been operating the hall out of his Detroit office since 2014, Robinson told MLive he sees this as a great opportunity to bring some attraction to the thumb area:

I think it would be a great draw, it would really really put Bay City even more on the map. Bay City sits in a very, very strategic area for that if the city, state and community got behind it, it could be one of the biggest attractions in the world.

Robinson has already inducted artists the likes of Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, James Brown and Prince, and envisions a highly-interactive museum that would include virtual reality and other technology, a themed restaurant, a theater and a section telling the history of hip-hop in America.
