You may or may not know that golf courses in the Kalamazoo area and throughout the state were ordered by the Governor to close as part of the Coronoavirus Stay Home Stay Safe quarantine.  Many argued that this activity could be done safely with as little as one person at a time and could certainly afford enough social distancing.  Nevertheless, courses are closed until further notice.

However, an organization called Good Friends of Golf, or GFG, have started a petition to change the circumstances.  The point they're making is, although we're supposed to stay home to stay safe, there is encouragement to get outdoors for fresh air and exercise.  It's pretty much like taking your dog for a walk and not coming in contact with anyone else.  I'm a golfer and have to agree.  If we can maintain social distancing there shouldn't be a problem.  In fact, golf provides the largest playing field in sports which is like a walk in the woods which is also where I spend much of my time playing golf.
