It's a big weekend at Kalamazoo State Theatre with a classic movie sing along and one of the all-time blues greats. Discover Kalamazoo has plans if you decide to get out this weekend.

Obviously, things are changing quickly, so call ahead or check out local closings/cancellations/delays list for updates before you finalize your weekend plans. As of 10 am Friday morning, Kalamazoo State Theatre will open the doors for two great events this weekend. [EDIT: The Sound of Music has now been cancelled. Robert Cray has been postponed until September 9.


Saturday, March 14 | 7 pm

Kalamazoo State Theatre

Tickets: $15 adult/ $8 student

  • Sing along to the most successful musical of all time
  • See this classic movie screened at the State
  • Costumes encouraged and audience participation is required

Sunday, March 15 | 7 pm

Rescheduled September 9

Kalamazoo State Theatre

Tickets: $32- $45

  • 5-time Grammy winner Robert Cray plays blues, soul, and rhythm & blues
  • Kalamazoo favorite Blues Veins will open the show

The previously scheduled Kalamazoo Home & Garden Expo has been cancelled and Farmers Alley Theatre has suspended performances until further notice.

Do be cautions if you decide to go out. Be sensible, but remember: there is no reason to panic and live in fear.
