The 19th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade is happening this Saturday in Downtown Kalamazoo

The Irish American Club of Kalamazoo is putting on the parade that kicks off Saturday morning at 11 am on the Kalamazoo Mall. According to Mlive there is a lot to lok forward to.

Kicking off the parade will be a number of local bicycle clubs in honor of bicyclists killed or injured on the roads, Following the bikes is a great line-up...

  • The Kalamazoo Pipe Band
  • Quinn School of Irish Dance
  • Portage-area Girl Scouts
  • Kalamazoo Rugby Football Club
  • Shamrock Montessori Center
  • The Notre Dame Club
  • Other parade participants include the Sons of Norway and El Concilio/Hispanic American Council

Yet, once the parade is over the party is not!  Mlive is reporting that ...

The the Irish American Club of Kalamazoo will put on its seventh annual Hooley for Healing event, an authentic Irish party that will double as a fundraiser for local families struggling with cancer. Festivities will begin at noon at Bells Eccentric Cafe, 355 E. Kalamazoo Ave. The event features Irish step dancers, music by Whiskey Before Breakfast, a silent auction and other activities.

So you can have a great time celebrating the Irish and help people while you are have fun doing it!
