The streaky hitting of the Detroit Tigers continued Monday night, this time against last year's American League Central Division champs.

Tyler Collins led the charge by crushing a three-run homer in the second inning to pace the Tigers over the Cleveland Indians 7-1 in the opener of a four-game series. Victor Martinez had three hits on the night and Alex Avila drove in two runs for the Tigers' second straight win.

Daniel Norris (2-2) even his record with six solid innings on the mound, allowing the Indians' lone run on five hits and striking out a season-high eight.

Edwin Encarnacion had two hits and drove in the Indians run in the loss.

The second game of the four-game series takes place tonight at Comerica Park. It will be a battle of aces, as Justin Verlander (1-2, 4.60 ERA) takes the bump for the Tigers. The Indians counter with Corey Kluber (3-1, 4.19 ERA). Catch the action at 6:45pm on 95.3 WBCK!
