U-M Investigating Assault Complaints Against Former Team Doctor
The Detroit News is reporting on Wednesday morning that the University of Michigan is conducting an investigation into recent sexual assault complaints against deceased former team doctor Robert Anderson, who worked for former U-M football coaches Bump Elliott through Lloyd Carr.
Former Michigan resident Robert Stone alleges publicly that Anderson (who died in 2008) sexually assaulted him dating back to 1971.
The university announced on Wednesday that it is creating a hotline for Anderson's former patients to report any abuse allegations against him.
School president Mark Schlissel said to the News: "The allegations that were reported are disturbing and very serious, We promptly began a police investigation and cooperated fully with the prosecutor's office."
Two of Anderson's children say the allegations against their father are "ridiculous."
