Usually when we're talking rankings it's about football or basketball and Michigan has been there for both sports in the not so distant past.  These days, however, we'll take what we can get and try and overachieve. But on the academic side there has never been much debate.  U of M has consistently been at or near the top in many if not all categories.  But before we move on I had a question: Did the money I spent sending my son there go to the athletic department or the academic department?

wxyz.com tells us that the University of Michigan was ranked the top public university in the country according to a report from Niche.  They considered academics, admissions, financial and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education for more than 500 public colleges and universities.  The report also states that U of M alumni go on to earn a starting salary of $49,800 per year.  Check out some of the other accolades by clicking HERE.
