A 16 year old female has been arrested in connection to a second threat made against a Kalamazoo school after the initial threat was posted on social media on Sunday.

In the evening of 11/12/19, the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety was made aware of an additional threat made on social media against Loy Norrix High School. Public Safety Officers worked throughout the evening and early morning hours on the investigation, and were able to identify the suspect. As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was executed in the 1800 block of Vanzee Avenue. Several electronic devices believed to have been used in the threats were seized as evidence. No weapons were located, and it appears at this time that the threat was not credible. - Kalamazoo Dept. of Public Safety release

The suspect was taken into custody during the execution of the search warrant. She has been charged with making a terrorist threat. KDPS investigators are continuing to investigate and to find out anyone else was involved in connection to this threat.

This second arrest comes after the arrest of a fourteen year old, following the initial threat made over the weekend against Loy Norrix High School.

In the State of Michigan, the crime of posting a terrorist threat, regardless of the intent or the capability of committing the act, is a felony and is punishable by imprisonment up to 20 years or a fine of not more than $20,000, or both.
