These Michigan Towns Desperately Need Dentists, So They’re Offering Free Housing
Are you, or do you know, a dental hygienist in Michigan that is perhaps looking for a change of scenery? If so, it could come at a really good deal. Two towns in the Upper Peninsula are having a shortage of dental hygienists and are so desperate to fill the positions that they are reportedly offering free housing.
The office of Richard B. Morrison DDS, PC in Pickford, located in the eastern U.P.'s small populated Chippewa County, posted on a Facebook page looking to try and fill a position. He also mentions a fellow friend in the dental field in the Sault Ste. Marie area who is also in a similar predicament.
Pickford has a population of 1,595 and is among several quaint unincorporated communities in this rural area of the U.P.. The Munuscong River flows through Pickford and there is country radio station that covers the region that ironically was started by a dentist from Lansing in 1982.
Sault Ste. Marie, of course, is right on the northern border of Michigan and Canada and also offers beautiful scenery and a lot of history, being the oldest city in the state Michigan.
If you enjoy the quiet life outside of your dental profession, these could be perfect opportunities for you. And don't forget the free housing! Sounds like a great deal!
