Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation is stepping in and supporting a local high school!

Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation has chosen Vicksburg High School for a mental health first aid pilot program which they are helping to fund.

Mlive is reporting that Vicksburg High School was one of 35 schools selected by the National Council for Behavioral Health with support from Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation to participate in the expanded teen Mental Health First Aid pilot program.

The program is in-person training designed for high school students to learn about mental illnesses and addictions, and specifically how to identify and respond to a developing challenge among their peers.

The pilot is being evaluated by researchers from John Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health
