Four decommissioned Battle Creek City fire trucks are going on the auction block tomorrow. The trucks have not been in regular service for some time. Instead, they’ve been used mainly for training exercises and maintained as emergency back-up units. The online auction and sales company Biddergy is conducting the auction. Opening minimum bids on the four trucks are set at $500.00 each.

A Biddergy spokesman says the trucks are in good enough condition that with a few tweaks, could again be regular service units for maybe a smaller fire department looking for a good deal.  The units were built between 1976 and 1985. They could also be potential parade units for interested groups or individuals. Or a memorable and crazy Christmas present for someone.
