Dozens of reports are coming in about an explosion in the sky over Michigan just after 8 PM Tuesday Night.  So, what was it?

A possible meteor re-entry created a bright flash and loud boom that could be seen from all over the state of Michigan.

Here's video footage of the flash in the sky from my security cameras in Kalamazoo.

Here's video footage from Southeast Michigan.

As you can see in the videos above the flash of light could be seen from all over the state of Michigan.  However, a loud boom was heard on the East side of the state according to,

It sounded like thunder, shaking houses across metro Detroit at roughly 8:15 p.m. Tuesday.

The National Weather Service for Detroit posted a since-deleted reply on Twitter at 8:25 p.m.: "No lightning was detected. Appears to have been a meteor."
