This is the Busiest Intersection in Portage – Look How Different It Was 60 Years Go

You've been stuck in traffic there. There aren't too many ways to avoid it when you're shopping in Portage. The intersection of Westnedge and Milham is the busiest in the city.

But it sure looked differently sixty years ago. The Portage Public Library shared this historic photo of the same intersection from more than a half-century in the past.

The photo below shows a narrow two-lane Westnedge and it's difficult to imagine the strip malls and stores that now line the wide avenue. The cross-road at the top of the photo is Milham.
