I've lived in Portage for almost 30 years now and I can count on one hand the number of times this much snow came this early without an eraser-like warm up in our future to get us back on track.  If you're like me, you were waiting for all the leaves to fall before cleaning out the gutters for Winter.  Not to mention I should've put my Christmas lights up this past Saturday.

So what's the story on the leaf pick up schedule moving forward?  Well, first of all, Portage city crews have to clear the streets of snow without plowing through many huge piles of leaves just off the curbs.  Once that has been accomplished, and barring any more significant snowfall, the leaf pick up schedule will resume with Zone 1 and will continue through all other zones in the usual amount of time.  The result could be many leaf piles just in time for Thanksgiving.  For more information click HERE.
