One of the biggest challenges facing America is our deficit spending.  Adding to our nation’s debt is one way our life as we know it will be affected.  Just compare it to your household finances. If you continue to add to your debt, will that end in anything other than trouble?

Why would our nation’s debt problem end any other way?

Our nation's Treasury Department is reporting that since the last budget deal about 6 months ago, agreed upon by the Republicans in the House and Senate, our nation’s debt has increased more than one trillion dollars.

One trillion dollars!

When will this train into the destruction of our country end?

The Treasury Department has informed us that at the close of business on Oct. 30, 2015, the total federal debt was $18,152,981,685,747.52.  At the close of business on April 28, 2016 our total federal debt was $19,186,207,744,589.55.

That is an increase of $1,033,226,058,842.03.

We as a nation have to confront this problem one way or another, and for us to stop this slide into a place none of us want to be, people and politicians from all sides are going to have to come together and work at stopping this trend.  We will all have to suffer in one way or another.  How can we leave this legacy to our children?

We must do the right thing and address this issue now before we get to the point of no return, if we have not already gotten there already.

Let’s talk about this today on The Live with Renk Show which airs Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to noon.  To let me know your thoughts during the show please call (269) 441-9595.
