With Greekfest, Island Fest and Taste of Kalamazoo just a memory now, you may need a festival fix. Here's some alternatives.First, the good news, The annual Kalamazoo Blues Festival is happening, but at a new local location, Wings Events Center. And for 2017, The Kalamazoo Blues Festival will be a Friday, Saturday and Sunday event, on July 14, 15, and 16.

The other good news is Kalamazoo Ribfest is still at Arcadia Creek, on August 3rd-5th.

But here's some other ideas. Kalamazoo Island Fest still has a Facebook page, but nothing's been posted since last year. But there is a post about a Caribbean Festival in downtown Battle Creek on July 22nd. However that was posted in late February and nothing since.

Battle Creek will host the annual Cereal Festival, June 9-10th, downtown.

South Haven's Harbor Fest is Father's Day weekend. Dragon boat races, beer garden and Lake Michigan. What else do you need?

Another long time favorite is the Battle Creek Balloon Festival and Air Show. Start date is June 29th and goes through the Fourth of July. Balloons, live music, an air show, and fireworks on Saturday night and on the Fourth of July.

There are bigger festivals like Taste of Chicago and Milwaukee's Summerfest, but those are big and expensive and a drive. The ones listed above are relatively local with easy access..
