Triple Shooting Near Western Michigan University, Suspect Still On The Loose
Police in Kalamazoo responded to a shooting near the campus of Western Michigan University that left three people with injuries early Friday morning. According to WWMT, officers responded to the scene outside a nightclub just west of campus in the 2900 block of Howard Street near West Michigan Ave. at around 1:30 am.
A large crowd was gathered at the scene. Police say two victims were located and rushed to the hospital. Further investigations led to the discovery of a third victim who had already went to the hospital with a gunshot wound. All three victims were last reported in stable condition and recovering from their injuries. It has not been reported whether or not the victims were WMU students.
Meanwhile a suspect is still on the run. There is currently no physical description of the suspect, but witnesses at the scene told police that they believe they know what vehicle they were driving. It was said to be a yellow Chevy Camaro with black racing stripes. No other information was immediately available, including a motive or if any other suspects may have been involved.
