The third annual Founders Freedom Forum scholarship in the amount of $1776, will be awarded on Thursday June 7th. It is sponsored by the Founders Freedom Forum of Kalamazoo. Each year, high school seniors are asked to research and write on a subject from the US Constitution or the events that lead to the adoption of the Constitution. This year the subject for the paper was the purpose of the judicial branch of the federal government as set forth in the Constitution. Our keynote speaker will be the Honorable Mike McKay, Judge in the 7th District Court and his topic is ‘The Separation of Powers and the Founders Intent.’ Admission is free, All are welcome to attend.
