Several antique cars were destroyed Thursday night in the Battle Creek area after a building caught fire.

The Battle Creek Enquirer reports that just before 7pm Thursday, fire crews were called to a fire that sparked in a pole barn on Calvin Rd near M-66 in Pennfield. When they arrived, they worked hard to put out the flames, but efforts were hindered by around 7 muscle cars with full fuel tanks feeding the blaze.

No one was injured in the fire, and neighboring residents who were evacuated as a precaution have been allowed to return home.

At this time the cause of the fire, and the full extent of the damage, is unclear.
