Gruber: Politics and Pinched Nerves
My father used to say that some people go through life with a pinched nerve and there is nothing you can do to make them happy. Truer words have never been spoken.
It makes me think of the blathering critics of President Barack Obama who blasted him at every turn because America was leading from behind and he had weakened our nation both at home and overseas. They screamed about Syria and Obama’s failure to enforce the red-line, they berated him for not being tough enough on terror and the terrorists themselves, they hollered about the failure of Obamacare and the damage it had done to the country.
The professional blathering class is in near upheaval because President Donald Trump has decided to lead from the front of the pack. He has made exactly 2 military decisions so far and both have been perfectly executed and had the intended result. He has not triggered a war or invaded a country or killed a bunch of civilians by bombing a hospital accidentally. Despite the success of the 2 limited attacks the critics are chirping like starving chicks in the barnyard.
They berated Obama for not attacking Syria when he drew a red line concerning the use of chemical munitions and now they attack Trump for attacking Syria when Bashir Assad crossed that very line by using chemical weapons on his own people, Syrian civilians. Others keep yelling about a false flag and that America is being goaded into a war with Syria and ultimately Russia. There is no proof of that. There isn’t a shred of evidence to support that notion.
It seems some people just want to be angry no matter what happens.
