Services set for Saturday for Bill Wright

There will be a memorial service for local businessman, philanthropist and friend, Bill Wright, at Valley Family Church in Kalamazoo on Saturday, January 4, 2013 at 10:00am.

Valley Family Church is located at 2500 Vincent Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI 49024.  Take the Oakland Drive exit (75) off I-94 and head north. Click here for a map and directions.

Wright died Saturday at his home in Ft. Myers, Florida. He was 54. He overcame an abusive childhood to become a major figure in Kalamazoo and West Michigan auto sales. His name was synonymous with the Seelye-Wright Auto Group. He was also commercial pitchman for the dealerships with his well known “Yes We Can” slogan. Wright also headed an ownership group that operated the Kalamazoo Kings baseball team. Wright was also a generous advocate for efforts to eliminate child abuse with the Wright for Kids Foundation. His foundation involved with both the Rock for Kids concerts downtown and the annual RoofSit fundraiser for the Community Healing Center.
