The KDPS says that around 1am Thursday, a Kalamazoo resident was approached by two men in the area of South Pitcher St. and Walnut St. The men allegedly hit him with an object, and stole his wallet at gun point before fleeing on foot.
The City of Parchment and some areas of Cooper Township in Kalamazoo County have tested positive for what the State of Michigan has designated as unsafe levels of PFAS.
34-year-old Rachel Kaiser pleaded guilty Monday to one count of embezzlement of more than $1,000 but less than $20,000, and one count of using a computer to commit a crime. She was accused of stealing more than $4,000 from the organization for personal purchases.
After the City of Kalamazoo tested their wastewater system, they determined that upwards of four times the state standard for certain types of PFAS were being discharged into the Kalamazoo River.
