It wasn't too long ago that driving over the Mackinac Bridge to the Upper Peninsula was amazing and new to Michigan residents and tourists alike.

The web site Forgotten Now Found specializes in finding old 8mm footage in thrift stores and in estate sales and converting it into digital media.

They've been posting some pretty cool stuff about Michigan to their site recently, including this footage of some tourists from Texas enjoying the ride over the fairly new Mackinac Bridge in 1959.

Some of the other footage includes the family taking a ferry over to Mackinac Island, and driving up I-75 toward the Soo.
