A Corvette Stolen from Pontiac in 1981 Was Just Found in Livonia
The police have not yet been able to track down the car's original owner.
Police in Livonia were called to check out an abandoned Corvette. When they looked up the VIN, it was improperly registered.
They kept looking and found the second VIN number, which was actually correct. And that's when they realized that the car had been stolen 38 years ago.
The police said that it's in pretty good condition for being 40 years old and has less than 11,000 miles on it. However, if the original owner filed an insurance claim when it was first stolen, the car would technically belong to the insurance company now.
So far, nobody has come forward to claim it.
